1 Jardan

By Dani Wales

I guess you could say I’m a fairly seasoned furniture and homewares shopper, and I definitely know quite a few sneaky locations in and around Melbourne to pick up some fabulous items for the home. Today however, I’ve shortlisted some of my favourites…

So put your comfy on shoes and block out a day or two to explore my top five furniture and homewares shopping destinations in Melbourne.

Jardan is my ultimate furniture retail destination in Melbourne. An Australian family-owned business built from the ground up in Melbourne, Jardan now have three retail stores across Australia.

Jardan practices sustainable sourcing and treatment of materials and are also doing their part to keep jobs in Australia by having everything handcrafted and made in Melbourne. Ahh my ongoing love affair with their honest and innovative design continues…

MUD Australia ceramics are a must in every home, whether it be a serving plate, drinking cup or a vessel holding some beautiful flowers or greenery. MUD products intersect a minimalist aesthetic with an artisan finish and provide a timeless alternative to mass-produced ceramic design.

MUD Australia ceramics are made from Limoges porcelain, which are sourced directly from France. The colour-depth is achieved by tinting the pigment through the porcelain body. A clear glaze is then hand brushed to the interior of each piece leaving the exterior with a vitrified stone-like surface that becomes smooth with handling.
